The Luke Wright Experience

I’ve been inspired, I dunno how
Today was cool and so, I dunno, now
Luke was awesome and shared his poems
I enjoyed them all and so did the others
The quirky style, the calm and coolness
His hair flopped over like a mad loony’s
I loved them all and wanna write some more
This little hope has been shown some love
His style is cool and up-to-date
The metaphors and words just flow like their late
I feel much happier and full of energy
I needed to write to relieve this ecstasy
I never knew writing could be so fun
And Luke has shown me what he’s done
I’ll keep on writing creatively and amateur
But he has started where I have after all
At school, still a teenager
Mobile phones and girlfriends are the topics of discussion
They always turn out so good and modern
They are so unlike what I have written

I have always found writing to relieve my stress and anger
But now I see that happiness can be put over
Adjectives and verbs are of plenty
And Luke uses them to his advantage
Acronyms galore and sayings are alike
But still a message comes across through the topics like a light
Growing up and dealing with stress
Is always hard for anyone
But writing it down can relieve this tension
Whether happy or sad
Sonnet or limerick
The message will come through eventually

Meanwhile, Luke is throwing out these
Awesome lines of scribble
And Iambic Pentameter goes out the window
The way he performs
Is something really special
He breaks it all down
And takes it to your level
He hops around the stage
Like an excitable bunny
It’s certainly entertaining
And ever so funny
You feel included and exclusive
Like he was only talking to you
Everyone laughed
Heck! Even the teachers did too!

For a Wednesday morning
It certainly a treat
And I would listen to it again
No doubt to say the least
And I connect, I can connect to these words
They are young a cool
And easy to understand
Though the topics may not be good for the younger band!
There are built-in laughs and punch lines thrown in
Suspension, tension and frustration as well
But what comes over most of all
Is the young guy showing poetry is not boring at all
